I love ribs as much as the next guy. But the pre-made sauces are usually high in sugar. And the rubs are normally salt-laden. The original recipe for these comes from Pampered Chef but I've adapted it for dietary restrictions. Enjoy!
QUICK COOKER BARBECUE ROOT BEER RIBS
Ingredients
1 rack (3 pounds) pork loin baby back ribs
3 Tablespoons Chef Donald's BBQ Rub (see recipe below)
6 ounces root beer (sugar free if possible)
1 cup barbecue sauce (I use G. Holmes Sugar Free Original Barbecue Sauce)
splash of raw honey (optional)
Directions
1. Remove the membrane from the rack of ribs
2. Season both side of the ribs with the rub
3. Cut between the bones to separate into 4 portions to fit into the inner pot
4. Add the root beer, ribs, and sauce to the inner pot of the slow cooker.
5. Cover and cook on LOW setting or until ribs are tender 4-6 hours depending on your pot.
6. To vary the taste, add a splash of raw honey.
