We love pizza in our house. But pizza that comes from a pizzeria or chain pizza store uses ingredients that are heavily salted. Making your own dough can be daunting with all the mixing, rising of the dough, remixing, etc. Using our bread machine cuts the work in half.
Basic Pizza Dough
Ingredients
2 to 2 1/3 cups all purpose flour
1 packet instant yeast or 2 1/4 teaspoons bulk yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar substitute (I use Truvia - a stevia based sweetener)
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried basil leaves
2 Tablespoons olive oil
3/4 cup warm water
Directions
In the basket of the bread machine, layer your ingredients - wet ingredients first and ending with the flour.
Set your machine for dough (see your machine directions for the proper setting).
Once the dough is mixed and risen, remove from machine.
Roll out dough into desired shape and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Drizzle a bit of additional olive oil over the top of the pizza to coat the entire surface.
Add sauce (Basic Tomato Sauce) and other toppings.
Bake in a 425 degree F oven for about 15 minutes or until toppings are golden brown.
Serve and enjoy!
