How It Began

After retirement I turned to my first passion - cooking.

Health issues began increasing as we aged so we found ourselves under many dietary restrictions. For example, garlic and most greens will thin the blood and should not be consumed in great quantities if one is on a blood thinner. How's a guy with an Italian heritage supposed to enjoy his meal without garlic?

So I gathered most of my wife's recipes, and together we made changes and substitutions to reflect a salt-free, almost sugar-free, and low to no fat diet. We are amazed at how much better our food tasted.

Along the way we bought a bread machine, an air fryer (already had this one), and a quick cooker (love our Pampered Chef Quick Cooker!)  Cooking many of the previously pre-processed foods we enjoy has helped immensely.

I'm sharing my recipes here in the hope that those of you, like me and my wife, will enjoy eating once again.
